Pepperwood Spotlight

Fairfield Forest

The Woodland Trust has acquired over 120 acres of adjacent land, thereby creating over 100 hectares of resilient continuous native woodland.

The creation of the new woodland blends natural regeneration/ colonisation with sympathetic tree planting, a significant locally distinctive and accessible landscape asset promoting nature recovery and climate resilience.

Pepperwood Volunteers

A team of volunteers help look after Pepper Wood, clearing brambles, maintaining paths and coppicing hazel.

The volunteers also make sustainable charcoal from felled wood and, using traditional tools, make fences, benches and other items that are sold to help fund Pepper Wood’s maintenance.
